According to Gambling Times football insider Graeme Bailey, Southampton are interested in signing out-of-favour Arsenal winger Theo Walcott during the January transfer window, and Saints fans would be keen on bringing him back to St Mary’s 11 years aafter he left.
The Gambling Times says that the 28-year-old has been told that the Gunners will look to sell him in the New Year unless he can improve that he can be a regular in the first team in the next three months, and while the player is confident that he can do that he is also wary that he needs to reclaim his spot in the England squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Walcott has played just 46 minutes of the north London outfit’s Premier League season so far, but his attacking prowess would certainly be welcome at St Mary’s right now considering they have failed to score in 10 of their last 15 Premier League matches.
Southampton supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and while some simply said “bring him home”, others feel that ‘he’d be great for the club’.

19 Goals, really. On second thoughts, if we could get him, he’d be a brilliant buy. Scored more Goals alone than we did at Home last Season

He would be great for us in my opinion. Less of a headless chicken than Redmond.
