After seeing their side beat Watford in style earlier in the day, Tottenham Hotspur fans must have been hoping for a Bournemouth miracle against Chelsea in the evening kick-off.
That victory against Watford meant Spurs had cut the gap between themselves and the Blues to just four points ahead of Chelsea’s visit to the south coast.
However, Antonio Conte’s men have rushed to a 2-1 lead heading into the interval, and the chances of Spurs’ title rivals dropping points have faded dramatically.
There is still a glimmer of hope though after a late Cherries surge and a Joshua King goal at the end of the first half brought them right back into the game after the league leaders went 2-0 up.
It’s fair to say that Tottenham fans are biting their fingernails right now. Even if they aren’t expecting Eddie Howe’s men to do anything in the upcoming second half, part of them must still believe.
They’ve been reacting to the action so far on Twitter…
They'll probably go on and win this game….but the thought of all the Chelsea fans squirming for the next 45 mins brings me joy ???? #coys

I had this weird feeling that Chelsea would choke today. I was wrong. Sigh. #COYS
