As reported by The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a significant transfer move this summer with an attempt to sign Schalke attacking midfielder Max Meyer.

The paper reckons Spurs would only need to pay £17.5m for his signature, less than half of the fee Mauricio Pochettino was quoted last summer when he tried to sign him.

Meyer has failed to sign a new contract at the German club and as such could end up being a massive bargain for Tottenham.

The German youngster is one of the biggest prospects in his homeland with over 160 appearances for Schalke and four caps for Germany despite being just 21 years of age.

He appears to have a massive future ahead of him and if Spurs can get in on his talent early, they'll be securing a potential star attacking midfielder of the future.

Supporters seem excited by the possibility of his signing and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all...
