Stuart Armstrong had the perfect debut for Scotland on Sunday night, assisting Chris Martin for his winning goal against Slovenia and putting in a performance worthy of the sponsors' Man of the Match award.

In fact his performance was so good that Scotland boss Gordon Strachan went out of his way to call it one of 'best ever' debuts he's seen for the national side.

It's just the latest in a long line of accomplishments for the Celtic midfielder this season, having already netted 12 goals for Brendan Rodgers team and making himself a firm fixture in the Hoops' starting XI.

He's rapidly becoming a fans' favourite at Celtic Park due to his dynamic displays in midfield and willingness to commit himself into the final third and make things happen.

All of those qualities were on display on Sunday night when he took on his marker, made space for himself and threaded through a lovely ball for Chris Martin to bang home and give Scotland a massive World Cup Qualification victory.

His popularity is now not just limited to the Celtic support, with Scotland fans taking to Twitter to share their love for a new national hero...
