Tottenham Hotspur posted photos of long-term absentees Danny Rose and Erik Lamela on the training pitch via their official Twitter account on Wednesday, and Spurs fans were delighted to see the duo back in action.

The former has been on the sidelines since January after picking up a knee injury against Sunderland, while the latter suffered a hip injury last October that has kept him out of action ever since.
The return of two of their stars will be a major boost to Mauricio Pochettino’s in-form men, although Rose – who continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United – faces a fight to dislodge Ben Davies in the left wing-back position while Lamela will need to compete with Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min for an attacking midfield role.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the update via social media, and while some simply described it as “excellent news”, others said it was “such a boost to the team”.
