Tottenham Hotspur were in blistering form on Sunday, thrashing Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley Stadium and sending a statement to their rivals in the English Premier League.
Spurs’ form at the national stadium has been below their best this season so far, especially in the league. Even when winning at Wembley, they’ve not quite been reaching the heights of last season’s performances.
On Sunday though they hit their stride, blowing Jurgen Klopp’s side away and showing the kind of attacking prowess that will make them real contenders at the top end of the table.
Harry Kane was again the hero, scoring a double, but there were good performances throughout the team with fans paying particular attention to Dele Alli.
The 21-year-old also scored and was back to his best after a fairly inconsistent start to the season. He’s received some criticism up to this point but the young Englishman will shut any doubters up if he plays like that every week.
Supporters took to Twitter to discuss his performance…
I've given Dele Alli some stick this season but he was a class act this afternoon 👏🏾👏🏾 #thfc
