Tottenham fans divided as title hopes fade away after West Ham defeat

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of winning the Premier League title all but ended on Friday night as they were beaten 1-0 by London neighbours West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Spurs knew that they could close the gap on leaders Chelsea to just one point with a victory against the Irons, but the evening was to end in disappointment as Manuel Lanzini’s second half goal proved to be the difference between the two teams.

The result also brought an end to Mauricio Pochettino’s men’s nine-match winning run in the top flight, which had increased the pressure on Antonio Conte’s side.

Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the result via social media, and they were divided with their opinions on the performance and result.

While some were proud of the season as a whole and said they still loved the club, others were critical and believe that the team is too nice to win the title.
