Tottenham Hotspur fans have praised Eric Dier after he slotted into the middle of the park during Wednesday night's win over Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino's side kept their Premier League title dream alive by sealing a slender 1-0 win at Selhurst Park thanks to Christian Eriksen's 78th-minute goal.

It was a tense match for the fans as they knew that only a win would keep pressure on leaders Chelsea, who had a seven-point advantage before kickoff.

The win keeps Spurs in the hunt with five games left to play, and even though Eriksen took plenty of plaudits, there were some mentions on Twitter for Dier.

The England international has mainly been used at the back this season, with some fans not feeling entirely convinced by his performances in that role.

Changes at half-time were made by Pochettino, who brought on Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko for Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele, which resulted in Dier slotting into the holding midfield role, with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli behind striker Harry Kane.

The majority of supporters were more than happy with Dier's contribution, suggesting that in the centre of midfield is where he thrives.
