Tottenham Hotspur brought their pre-season tour of North America to a close with a 3-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Manchester City in Nashville on Saturday night.

The three-goal loss followed a 3-2 defeat by Italian giants Roma on Wednesday night, although Spurs did beat French outfit Paris Saint-Germain 4-2 in their first tour match.

The London club will play Juventus in their final pre-season match this weekend, before beginning their 2017-18 Premier League campaign away to Newcastle United on August 13.

Mauricio Pochettino's side finished second in the Premier League table last season, but face a tough task to repeat that feat in the new campaign as the clubs around them continue to spend.

On Sunday, midfielder Dele Alli took to Twitter to comment on Tottenham's North American tour, and despite a couple of disappointing results, it seems that the Spurs supporters are absolutely desperate for the new season to start.

It remains to be seen whether Pochettino brings any new players to the club before the trip to Newcastle, but either way, it looks like the club's fanbase are in high spirits.
