Tottenham Hotspur won at Wembley for the first time in the English Premier League on Saturday, seeing off the challenge of Bournemouth.

Christian Eriksen provided the goal for the vital victory that sees the London side close the gap on Manchester United above them after they drew away to Liverpool.

It wasn't the classiest of performances from Mauricio Pochettino's men, certainly not close to the heights they've reached in recent times, but it was an important first step towards finding consistency at home in the Premier League.

One player who did catch the eye was Jan Vertonghen. Although he has been played at left-back previously, it's not a position he is known for and he was asked to fill in there on Saturday due to injuries and played superbly.

The 30-year-old, naturally a centre-back, was defensively solid in his unusual position and even had the ambition to make forward runs in support of more attacking teammates.

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance...
