According to reports in The Mirror, Chelsea have reportedly joined the £40m race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker this summer.

The Spurs star has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks with both Manchester City and Manchester United said to be interested in the England international, and now the Premier League champions have lodged their interest in the right-back as Antonio Conte looks to provide Victor Moses with some much-needed competition.

The 26-year-old’s future has been cast into further doubt after he was left on the bench for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea, the north London derby against Arsenal and the final ever match at White Hart Lane against the Red Devils on Sunday.

Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, with many dismissing it immediately believing the club would never sell a player to Chelsea.
