Manchester City defender Kyle Walker saw red on his home debut for the club in their 1-1 draw against Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night, and Tottenham fans were understandably delighted.

Walker decided to leave Spurs for pastures new this summer and completed an initial £45m move to link up with Pep Guardiola's men last month, before making his competitive bow in the win against Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening day of the season.

However, the 27-year-old picked up two quick-fire yellow cards in the clash against the Toffees on Monday – the second of which was particularly debateable – to be sent off before half-time on his first appearance in front of his new fans.

Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the dismissal via social media, and while many were laughing at their former right-back, others were quick to label him as a "waste of money".
