Tottenham Hotspur got their Champions League campaign off to the perfect start as they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley on Wednesday night, and Spurs fans were particularly impressed with the performance of Ben Davies at left wing-back.
The Wales international was initially brought in as cover and competition for Danny Rose when he signed in 2014, but with the England star being out since January with a knee injury the 24-year-old has established himself as an important player in the team – especially this season.
Davies was particularly impressive in the win against Dortmund, which saw the north London outfit pick up just their third win in 13 appearances at Wembley since it was rebuilt.
The former Swansea man provided a real attacking outlet on the left-hand side and was unlucky not to score with a low driven shot, while he also showed his defensive abilities throughout.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on his showing via social media, and while some say it was his "best game in a Spurs shirt by a country mile", others believe it is time he receives the "praise he deserves" for his performances.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
