Tottenham Hotspur received a boost on Thursday as midfielder Victor Wanyama was confirmed to be available for selection for the visit of Bournemouth to White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The Kenya international was taken off just before half-time in Spurs’ 2-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor earlier this month after picking up a back injury, but he returned to the squad for the visit of Watford last weekend.

However, the 25-year-old dropped out of the 18 after feeling something during the warm-up, and he was replaced on the substitutes’ bench by Josh Onomah.

Wanyama has quickly become an important player for Mauricio Pochettino’s men this term as they once again challenge for the Premier League title, and the midfielder’s return will boost them during the run-in.

Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the positive injury update via social media, and the majority were delighted to have the key man back in the middle of the park.
