Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Wilfried Zaha sent out a tweet that looked to hit back at the criticism that he doesn’t have the passion to play international football for England on Monday.

The Crystal Palace winger chose to commit his future to the Ivory Coast instead and was criticised by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate for the decision.

However, the 24-year-old posted a picture of him celebrating during his side’s 2-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday, with a caption obviously intended for Southgate.

After scoring one and assisting the other in the success at Stamford Bridge, Zaha will be continuing to impress the Premier League scouts that are going to watch him play – he has scored six goals and provided seven assists in the top flight this term and Arsenal and Chelsea are said to have joined Tottenham in the race for his signature.

Spurs supporters were quick to reply to the tweet on social media, telling the attacker that he should come to White Hart Lane this summer, but not everyone is convinced that he would be a good addition.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the post…
