According to reports in The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a January move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, and Spurs have been quick to have their say on the latest transfer rumour.
The Telegraph says that Mauricio Pochettino wanted to bring the 23-year-old to north London during the summer window, but a deal became complicated when the England international suffered a hamstring injury which he is still currently sidelined with.
With his contract due to run out at the end of this season, the report adds that Barkley could be available for around £20m in the New Year and would provide competition for Mousa Dembele in the middle of the park, although they could face competition for his signature from Chelsea.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the rumour, and while some said “if he’s fit, he’s ours”, others believe that his arrival would be “the end of Dembele”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

is he fit now? I only ask because Everton need all the help they can murder and don't see him playing for them!

Will be the end of Dembele when Barkley comes. He won't get much game time
