West Ham United’s London Stadium has been raided by HMRC as part of a tax fraud investigation, along with Newcastle United’s St James’ Park.
The HMRC released a statement on Wednesday morning saying it had arrested “several men working within the professional football industry for a suspected income tax and national insurance fraud.”
One of those clubs they have targeted is said to be the Irons, and they have “seized business records, financial records, computers and mobile phones.”
It is unclear who has been taken into custody as of yet and the HMRC also added that they are “unable to provide any further information at this time.”
Tottenham Hotspur supporters were quick to have their say on the news involving one of their arch-rivals, with some hoping that the Hammers would be deducted enough points to see them relegated from the Premier League.

West Ham's entire stadium is one big tax fraud. Not sure it needed a crack team of investigators to notice this. https://t.co/vHmQ9fUbZ5
