According to reports in the Daily Mail, Tottenham have enquired about signing £35m-rated Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri this summer.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is clearly looking to strengthen his squad this summer and is said to be interested in the 25-year-old box-to-box player, who helped his side to an impressive third-place finish in Ligue 1 this season.

The Ivory Coast international scored seven goals and provided a further nine assists in 34 league appearances and would provide competition for the likes of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama in the middle of the park.

The north London outfit could face competition for his signature though with the Daily Mail suggesting Roma have already had a £20m bid rejected, with Nice unwilling to let him go for anything lower than his £35m release clause.

Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, with many unimpressed with the potential purchase of the Ivorian and others not understanding why they need another central midfielder.
