Fans have called on Tottenham Hotspur to explain what is going on with Erik Lamela after the club confirmed that there is still no return date for the Argentine.
The 24-year-old has not played since the EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool on October 25 due to a hip injury.
Updates on his fitness have been few and far between, with some supporters questioning if more is going on behind the scenes.
Ahead of Spurs’ Europa League match against Gent at Wembley on Thursday, the club gave some positive news, stating that Lamela has begun building up his fitness on the training pitch.
However, the club’s official website added:
“No date is yet confirmed for a return to full training and his recovery continues to be monitored.”
Over the last few months, Lamela has sought help from the physios at his former club Roma, and he went back to his homeland Argentina to spend time with his ill brother.
It is uncertain when the attacking player will return to first-team action, and the ongoing wait is frustrating fans.
Why no return date on Lamela why all the secrecy @SpursOfficial not the first time it has happened with him must be an underlying problem

Anyone actually be surprised if the club were hiding a drug ban from Lamela? Can't think of anything else in all honesty.
