Tottenham Hotspur ended their pre-season with an impressive win over UEFA Champions League finalists Juventus at Wembley on Saturday. Spurs ran out 2-0 winners over their visitors thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.
While that would usually be cause for celebration, the occasion was marred by an injury to right-back Kieran Trippier and Mauricio Pochettino has been left sweating on how serious it may, just a week before the start of the English Premier League season.
The injured star left Wembley on crutches and it’s unclear how long he could be sidelined for.
Having sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City and not signed a replacement, that area of the team is now looking rather thin with just 20-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters available to fill in.
Spurs have ambitions to challenge for the league title once again next season and ahead of a tricky trip to St James’ Park next Sunday to face Newcastle United, a sluggish start due to an injury in a key position is far from ideal.
Supporters are certainly worried and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the situation…

Surely Trippier's injury means Levy has to get his chequebook out ! Because if we go with KWP next week and he gets hurt, what then ? #thfc
