Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left scratching their heads after Mauricio Pochettino announced his team for this evening’s Champions League clash against APOEL in Cyprus.
The confusion was centred around the back of the pitch, with Ben Davies, Keiran Trippier and Serge Aurier all starting.
With Davies usually occupying the left-back role, it has been between Trippier and Aurier to fight for the position on the other side of the pitch.
However, on this occasion, Pochettino has opted to play both, which has prompted fans to wonder how the starting XI will line up.
The Argentine boss has had to tinker with his team due to the absence of Christian Eriksen, who is missing due to illness, and the inability to call upon Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli due to suspensions.
As a result, some players may have to switch positions this evening, while young Harry Winks has been handed a surprise start.

Most of the fans are struggling to grasp the understanding behind this particular team selection.
