Tottenham Hotspur fans get emotional over White Hart Lane farewell

It is beginning to dawn on Tottenham Hotspur fans that they will soon be bidding farewell to their stadium White Hart Lane.

The North London outfit will continue their progression into one of the Premier League’s top clubs when they move over the road into a new state-of-the-art ground.

On Sunday, though, Spurs will say their final goodbyes to their home of 118 years when they play their last top-flight game at the stadium.

It is quite a game as well, with Manchester United visiting the country’s capital in a bid to force their way into the Champions League spots with just a handful of matches to play.

To commemorate the landmark moment, the Spurs team will wear one-off shirts, which will display the date of the fixture and the Tottenham Tribute Trust’s logo on the front.

Even though there is disappointment that the team failed to maintain their title push following defeat to West Ham United last week, there is plenty to praise given that the club have smashed their record points total and are on course to secure second place – their highest ever finish in the division.

While many fans are excited about the stadium switch, they are feeling emotional about the final match at the Lane.
