Tottenham Hotspur fans got excited that the club were announcing a new signing when their latest tweet was posted, but they were sadly mistaken.
The North London outfit took a trip down memory lane to two years ago when they signed Kieran Trippier from Burnley.
The club posted an image of the full-back holding up a Spurs shirt when he completed his transfer.

Some fans mistook it for the unveiling of a new signing, but they swiftly learned the truth.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is yet to bring in any new talent to the squad this summer, but there is plenty of time as the transfer window does not officially open until July 1.
While reminding the fans of Trippier’s arrival may be a good thing considering he ousted Kyle Walker from the first team in the closing stages of last season, it is not the signing that fans wanted to see.
A large number of supporters reacted to the post by urging the club to hurry up in bringing some new faces.
When we ask for signings, this is not what we meant…
