Tottenham Hotspur fans impressed with Trippier, happy for Walker to leave

A handful of Tottenham Hotspur fans would not be distraught to see Kyle Walker leave the club due to the impressive form of Keiran Trippier.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has indicated that Walker is not particularly vital to the team as he left him out of the first XI in key matches this season.

Trippier was preferred in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, as well as Premier League games against arch rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the final ever match at White Hart Lane.

Injury kept Walker out of the squad for the final league game of the season against Hull City, but he was not missed as Trippier put on a positive display.

In an emphatic 7-1 victory, which included a hat-trick from Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, Trippier created two assists – his fifth and sixth in all competitions this season.

In comparison, the 26-year-old made the same number of goals as Walker, but he played 12 games fewer.

Judging by Tottenham fans’ reactions on Twitter, plenty would be happy to give Trippier the first-team spot every week next season.
