Ahead of their Premier League clash with Swansea City on Wednesday night, Tottenham Hotspur fans have urged the club to re-sign attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson after the club posted a picture of him on their official Twitter account.

The north London outfit sold the Iceland international to the Welsh outfit in 2014 despite the fact that he scored 13 goals in 83 appearances in all competitions across two seasons.
While the 27-year-old had struggled to become a regular fixture in the starting line-up during his spell at White Hart Lane, he is now the Swans’ key man as they look to secure top flight safety – they lie just one point above the relegation zone as they prepare to host Mauricio Pochettino’s high-flying Spurs.
Sigurdsson has enjoyed an impressive season regardless, scoring eight goals and providing a further 11 assists for his teammates in 30 Premier League appearances.
Tottenham supporters were quick to react to the post, and it is clear that they want the midfielder to return.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the post…
