It is three years ago to the day since Eric Dier made his debut for Tottenham Hotspur.

Dier arrived at Spurs from Sporting Lisbon as a full-back, but has quickly developed into arguably one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.

The Englishman made quite an impression on his debut - scoring against West Ham United at Upton Park, and there is no question that memory will live with Dier forever.

On Wednesday, Tottenham's official Twitter page paid tribute to the 23-year-old, who had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer before the Red Devils took Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.

Dier is without question a popular figure with the Tottenham fanbase, but it seems that the club's supporters are currently more worried about potential new signings.

Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez is said to be closing on a move to Wembley Stadium, but that deal has not yet been announced, and the frustration from the Tottenham supporters is there for all to see.
