Tottenham supporters unhappy with Lamela injury

Erik Lamela has not represented Tottenham Hotspur since October 2016 after struggling with a succession of hip problems over the last 11 months.

The Argentine has actually recently undergone surgery on both hips in a bid to cure the issue, and it has been suggested that the attacker could be available in early 2018.

Lamela has taken a fair amount of stick from football supporters in recent months, but the attacker did score 11 times in 44 appearances for Tottenham during the 2015-16 campaign, showing that he can certainly contribute when he is on the field.

Tottenham’s official Twitter account provided an update of the team news ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Everton, and Lamela’s name was included on the list.

It would be fair to say that there are a number of Spurs supporters still backing the Argentine, but the majority have seemingly had enough of waiting for him to recover.

The former Roma attacker is still just 25, but injuries have wrecked the last year of his career, and many are doubting whether he will ever fully return to top-notch condition.
