West Ham United co-owner David Gold took to his official Twitter account on Saturday to report that the London Stadium had been voted the sixth best in the Premier League, according to a poll on talkSPORT.

The Irons left the Boleyn Ground to move into their new home last summer, but many fans were not happy at being situated so far away from the pitch and the atmosphere – and results – suffered as a result.

However, Gold believes it is an “upgrade on the beloved Upton Park”, and Slaven Bilic will certainly be hoping to bring more success to the former Olympic Stadium next season.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the post via social media, and they were far from happy that Gold is still talking about the London Stadium instead of bringing in the new players they need this summer, while others were not pleased with the use of the word “their” in the tweet when Gold claims to be a Hammers fan.
