Former West Ham United left-back and current Irons coach Julian Dicks has come out and said that he is responsible for the crossing and shooting drills, rather than organising the team defensively.

Usually, you would have someone with attacking experience doing that type of coaching and it is another confusing statement in what has been a difficult period for the club.
A run of five straight Premier League defeats – which had dragged the Hammers to within five points of the relegation zone – was finally brought to an end when they beat fellow strugglers Swansea City 1-0 at the London Stadium last weekend.
West Ham fans were quick to have their say on the surprising comments from Dicks, with some saying it explains why the side has struggled to find the net in recent weeks, and others suggesting it shows why there needs to be a huge shake-up at the club during the summer.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the comments…

@WHUFC_News Wait what? You mean he actually does something?

@WHUFC_News He was brought in for the fans, there is no evidence to suggest he is a talented coach.

@WHUFC_News Just sums it up doesn't it! Changes need to be made this summer to the coaching staff if Bilic stays! Need to work on fitness too!
