West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly said to be considering giving defender James Collins a new deal.

The 33-year-old’s contract at the London Stadium is due to run out in the summer of 2018, but the Croatian boss is ready to extend the Welshman’s stay with the Irons, despite him not being a regular in the team throughout the campaign.

Collins put in an impressive display in his side’s vital 1-0 win against Swansea City on Saturday, which ended a run of five straight Premier League defeats and moved them eight points clear of the relegation zone as a result.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the news via social media, and while some believed he should stay as he would be good back-up, others said that his legs have gone and there would be little point offering the Wales international a new contract.
