West Ham United have received a much-needed boost with the news that defender Angelo Ogbonna could be back in action in two weeks’ time.
The Italian centre-back has been out of action since the 3-1 win against Middlesbrough in January, and it was thought that he would be out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
However, the 28-year-old confirmed in an interview with Irons legend Paolo Di Canio that he could return to the fold in a fortnight, and it would be a big boost for Slaven Bilic and the team who are currently in the middle of a four-game losing streak in the Premier League.
Hammers supporters were quick to have their say on the news, and they were delighted that the defender could be on the verge of a return to action, with Jose Fonte struggling following his January transfer window move from Southampton.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the news…

@Adrian_SMDC They won't rush Ogbonna back too soon. Might get a few sub appearances in last few games of season.

If Ogbonna really is back in 2 weeks, by then Sakho will be back too. They two will be difference makers in whether we stay up
