West Ham fans furious as Martinez and Holland to miss Tottenham clash

According to the reliable @ExWHUemployee on Twitter, West Ham United youngsters Nathan Holland and Toni Martinez are set to miss out on a place in the squad for the EFL Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Wednesday night, and Irons fans are not happy.

Following the demoralising 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium on Friday night and with a crucial trip to bottom-of-the-table Crystal Palace on Saturday, Slaven Bilic is expected to ring the changes against the Hammers’ London neighbours.

However, Holland and Martinez – who has been in prolific form for the U23s and should count himself unfortunate that he wasn’t part of the squad for the match against the Seagulls considering Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho were both absent – look set to miss out on a spot in the 18 as the east London outfit attempt to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and while some said the decision was “shocking from Bilic”, others simply labelled it as “pathetic”.
