Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Lord Sugar aimed a dig at West Ham United's trophy cabinet on the latest episode of The Apprentice, and Irons fans were not impressed.

During a task in which the ladies' team had left a luxury hotel room they were designing rather sparse, Lord Sugar took his opportunity to have some banter with Hammers vice-chairman Baroness Karren Brady.

Describing the bare room, the 70-year-old said: "I think West Ham’s trophy room has got more in it".

Discounting their play-off final win in 2012, the Irons haven't won a major trophy since 1981 but seeing as Spurs haven’t won anything since the League Cup in 2008 it was a bit of an ironic jibe.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the comment via social media, with some hitting back and saying the north London outfit "won't win a trophy for years".
