According to reports in The Sun, West Ham United are interested in signing Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel this summer and are willing to meet the £24m release clause in his contract.

Irons manager Slaven Bilic is keen to strengthen his attacking options this summer after Michail Antonio – who spent the majority of last season playing at right-back or right wing-back, ended the campaign as the club’s top scorer in the Premier League.

The Colombia international is the latest in a long line of players to be linked with a move to the London Stadium already this summer, and he can be purchased for £24m after scoring 13 goals and providing a further nine assists in 33 appearances in all competitions last term.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and while many are getting frustrated at the number of strikers they are being linked with, others feel that Muriel wouldn’t be a success in the English top flight.
