According to Sky Sports, West Ham United are hoping to complete a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez in the next seven days.

Irons manager Slaven Bilic is keen to strengthen his attacking options this summer and he looks to be closing in on the former Manchester United man, who has a release clause of £13m in his contract.

The Mexico international has scored 39 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit following a permanent move to Germany from Old Trafford two years ago.

Hernandez previously netted 59 goals in 157 outings for the Red Devils despite struggling to secure a spot in the starting line-up.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the potential deal for the striker via social media, and they are clearly excited at the impact the Mexican could have at the London Stadium.
