West Ham fans react as key Arsenal duo are ruled out of midweek Emirates clash

West Ham United have received a boost ahead of their trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night with the news that the Gunners will be missing some key players.

Influential centre-back Laurent Koscielny will be absent after picking up an injury that saw him substituted off at half-time in his side’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday, while goalkeepers Petr Cech and David Ospina will also be unavailable because of slight niggles.

It means that Gabriel is likely to fill in at the heart of the defence and third-choice stopper Emiliano Martinez will be between the sticks, but that news it isn’t enough to convince Irons supporters that they will bring anything back from north London.

The Hammers are on a dreadful run of form having lost their last four Premier League matches, and fans believe the injury worries for their hosts will only keep the scoreline a little lower than it might have been.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the injury news…
