West Ham fans unimpressed as club eyes free transfer move for winger

According to reports in the Daily Star, West Ham United are said to be keen on signing Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal on a free transfer this summer.

The 24-year-old’s winger with the Ligue 1 outfit is due to run out at the end of the season and with no new contract on the table, he will be available for nothing after scoring two goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this term.

That news has caught the attention of Hammers boss Slaven Bilic, who is looking to strengthen his squad following a below-par campaign, but Champions League semi-finalists Monaco are also said to be interested.

Irons supporters were quick to have their say on the latest transfer rumour via social media, and they were less than impressed with the club targeting another free transfer.

They were also concerned that the wide man could turn out to be as ineffectual as two additions from last summer – Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore.
