According to reports in The Mirror, West Ham United target and Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez is demanding £140,000-a-week to join the Irons in a £13m deal this summer.

Irons manager Slaven Bilic is keen to sign a striker with Premier League experience before the start of the new season and he wants to bring Hernandez, who has a release clause of £13m in his contract with the Bundesliga outfit, back to England two years after he left Manchester United.

However, his wage demands could be an issue as the amount he is asking for is £40,000-a-week more than the club’s current highest earner Andy Carroll, according to The Mirror.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and the majority want the board to pay Hernandez the money as they say that is the price they are going to have to pay if they want to bring quality players to the London Stadium.
