West Ham target Batshuayi scores title-winning goal, Irons fans react

West Ham United are reportedly ready to make Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi one of their top transfer targets this summer, but Irons fans are less hopeful of a deal following his impact on Friday night.

The Blues knew that they needed to take all three points against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns to win the Premier League trophy in the Midlands, but the match looked to be heading for a goalless draw.

However, substitute Batshuayi – who has featured for just 123 minutes in the top flight following a £33m move from Marseille last summer – popped up with the winner ensure the west London outfit regained the title they won in 2015.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is keen to sign a new striker this summer with continuing concerns over the fitness of Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho, but supporters are worried that Batshuayi’s performance against the Baggies could mean that a potential deal is now beyond them.
