Numerous West Ham United fans are unhappy at the prospect of Chelsea legend John Terry signing for their club this summer.

The former England captain announced on Monday that he will depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after spending 22 years of his life at the club.

During his 19-year spell as part of the Chelsea first-team squad, Terry has won 14 major titles, but rather than retiring, the centre-back has claimed that he intends to continue playing.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic was asked about the possibility of signing Terry at the end of the season, and while he did not confirm that the defender was on the club's transfer wishlist, he did not rule it out either.

The 48-year-old told Sky Sports:

"Every manager and club would think about John Terry if he's available because there are not many leaders like him, but then again we have experience in that position, we have good players in that position, so never say never but to be fair I don't think about that right now."

The Hammers added to their defence in January by bringing in Jose Fonte from Southampton, but they are still leaking goals.

The team have kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 Premier League games, and while some would welcome Terry to East London, others are not so keen.
