West Ham United are in need of some reinforcements, but everything seems to have gone quiet on the transfer front over the last few weeks.

The East London outfit have brought in full-back Pablo Zabaleta from Manchester City on a free transfer, but that is the only acquisition so far.

After injuries affected Slaven Bilic's strike force, the need for a new forward player has become apparent, but the club are yet to answer the call.

On their official Twitter page, attention turned to the start of pre-season training this week.

One post included an image of Zabaleta speaking to club captain Mark Noble, and it drew some attention from the fans on social media.

The supporters put their own humorous spin on the tweet, while others used it as an opportunity to criticise the club for their lack of spending so far.

West Ham had a difficult season due to the transition into the London Stadium not going as smoothly as planned, and their best player Dimitri Payet forced his way out of the club in January.

Bilic's men eventually finished 11th in the Premier League.
