Carlton Cole spent nine years at West Ham United and since leaving the East London outfit in 2015, the striker has remained a favourite among the fans.

The 33-year-old scored 68 goals in all competitions during his time with the Hammers, and he was at the club when they secured Premier League promotion in the 2011-12 campaign.

Cole made over 370 appearances wearing claret and blue, but his playing time was limited towards the end and he left to join Celtic.

The striker's most recent club was Indonesian outfit Persib Bandung, but he mustered just five appearances, only two of which were as a starter.

With the majority of West Ham's players currently on international duty with their respective nations, the club's social media team opted to post a quote on Twitter from their former striker.

Given that his words were complimentary to the West Ham following, the supporters expressed their love for the Englishman.

Some even called for Cole to return.
