West Ham fans despair at starting line-up as defender comes up against Hazard

The loss of one of their star men, Michail Antonio, because of suspension was never going to be good news for West Ham, but it is made even worse by the fact that he misses the Premier League clash against leaders Chelsea at the London Stadium on Monday.

It is Cheikhou Kouyate who has been named in the starting line-up to replace Antonio at right-back, and even though the Senegal international is popular among the fans, it appears as though they are slightly worried that he will be up against one of the league’s in-form players in Eden Hazard.

Kouyate usually features in either central midfield or at centre-back for the Hammers, and supporters of the Hammers are certainly worried whether the 27-year-old will be able to cope with the threat and direct running of the Belgian, who has scored 10 goals and created 52 chances in 25 top flight appearances this term.

Here are just some of the reactions from Irons fans on Twitter after the starting line-ups were announced…

Some Irons supporters still can’t believe that they didn’t buy a right-back during the January transfer window with Sam Byram and Alvaro Arbeloa seemingly completely out of favour with boss Slaven Bilic.
