Southampton were knocked out of the FA Cup by Derby County on Wednesday night.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were eliminated on penalties, as they threw away their advantage in a crazy final 15 minutes.
Derby’s first goal of the night came from a superb Harry Wilson free-kick, after a relatively needless foul from Saints defender Cedric Soares.
Wilson then turned provider, assisting Martyn Waghorn as Frank Lampard’s side forced extra time.
And Derby held their nerve to win the subsequent shootout; the Championship side scored every one of their five spot-kicks, while Nathan Redmond missed for Saints.
Southampton fans were understandably upset with the performance, and have called on Hasenhuttl to attempt to cash in one specific player during the January transfer window.
While winger Mohamed Elyounoussi endured another difficult game – he has yet to score for the club – the 33-cap Portuguese was singled out, with one fan claiming they’d even accept an offer as low as £2million.
Cedric makes no attempt to stop a cross for the hundredth time in his #saintsfc career. Sell the fraud!

My 10p: Actually thought Johnson was good, lots of pace just a little hot headed. Redmond incredible as always, level above a lot of the squad. Bar the miss Long caused all sorts of problems. Elyounoussi poor with a few moments of brilliance. Cedric needs replacing #saintsfc

Blowing a 2 goal lead twice against a lower league side is completely unacceptable. Cedric gives away a free kick in dangerous positions twice and one of them ended up being the catalyst for our downfall. We need to ditch him asap, I'd honestly accept 2 million! #Saintsfc #Cedric

I also don’t rate Cedric, stealing a living as a footballer #saintsfc

How much could we realistically get for Cedric? Really think we need to cash in. #saintsfc

Have "consistent" and "good crosser" even been used in same sentence about Cedric? #SaintsFC
