Southampton are yet to pick up a win in the Premier League this season following two frustrating matches.
Mark Hughes’s side were held to a goalless draw by Burnley on the opening weekend of the campaign.
On Saturday, the Saints were on the losing side of a 2-1 scoreline against Everton at Goodison Park.
Theo Walcott and Richarlison netted for the Toffees in the first half, and even though Danny Ings managed to score on his debut for Southampton, the coastal club were unable to perform a comeback.
While dissecting the action after the final whistle blew, some Southampton fans took aim at Jack Stephens and Wesley Hoedt.

The pair were partnered in defence by Hughes, who also started the duo against Burnley in their opening fixture.
Plenty of supporters were less than impressed by the defenders’ performances at Goodison, with many calling for the manager to make a big change at the back.
Hoedt and Stephens nightmare

But I’m sorry, we ain’t going to be going anywhere soon with a CB pairing of Hoedt and Stephens.
Neither are cut out for this league and are liabilities individually , nevermind when they are playing together.
Vestegaard and Yoshida is a must vs Leicester ! #SaintsFC

Hughes IS the right man for #saintsfc, but Stephens and Hoedt are donkeys. https://t.co/bkORpYZE1w

Hoedt and Stephens simply not good enough. I watched 2nd half and Stephens especially had a shocker. Yoshida has to come in alongside vestergaard.

Time to bin off Hoedt, Stephens and Romeu, such limited players who put us in constant trouble.

Sorry but Hoedt & Stephens are not consistently good enough. We’ve been spoiled in recent years with quality CBs but they have been our Achilles heel recently.

Crazy that neither Stephens or Hoedt got sold this summer, both no way good enough to play i the premier league, Yoshida and Vestergaard together next week please.

Hoedt out, Stephens out, Or Saint will be out

Said it last year. Wesley woeful Hoedt and jack Stephens are not good enough.

Hoedt and Stephens are not a PL centre-back pairing. Both poor today. The sooner Vestergaard and Yoshida return, the better! Same old defensive problems from #saintsfc today.
