Now that Jack Wilshere has confirmed that he will be leaving Arsenal next month, plenty of clubs are expected to be linked to the midfielder.

Southampton are one of the potential suitors being named in the media.

On Tuesday, The Mirror reported that the coastal club are interested in bringing the England international on board.

Manager Mark Hughes is believed to be an admirer of the 26-year-old, who has struggled with serious injury problems over the years.

Despite the majority of last season being injury-free for Wilshere, he was still unable to hold down a regular spot on the team.

On Tuesday evening, the midfielder announced via Instagram that he will leave Arsenal when his contract expires next month.

Wilshere admitted that he wanted to stay, but was informed by manager Unai Emery that he would not be given much game time this season.

Southampton now find themselves in a situation where they could potentially sign the midfielder for nothing, and while some fans think the move is a no-brainer, others are not so convinced.
