Norwich City midfielder James Maddison has been linked to numerous clubs over the last few months.

Southampton were thought to be in the race for the 21-year-old's signature, but the coastal club look set to miss out.

On Monday, BBC Sport claimed that Leicester had a bid in the region of £20m accepted by the Canaries.

Since then, speculation has been rife that it is only a matter of time before Maddison is unveiled as a Leicester player.

The Leicester Mercury reported later on Monday that a big reason why Maddison chose the 2015-16 Premier League champions is on order to be closer to his family in Coventry.

It is easy to see why numerous clubs were in the market for the midfielder given that he scored 15 goals and created 11 assists in all competitions for Norwich last season.

Many Southampton fans felt that the three-capped England Under-21 international would fit in perfectly at St Mary's.

After widespread reports emerged of Maddison's impending move to Leicester, Saints fans gave mixed responses.
