Journalist Dean Jones has urged Southampton to replace Nathan Jones with Jesse Marsch amid growing uncertainty over the manager's position.
What’s the word?
Earlier this week, the Leeds United boss was sacked from his position at the Premier League club, leaving the Whites just one place above the bottom three.
However, the American's former team are at least better off than the Saints who have fallen to the very bottom of the division under the management of Jones.
The Southampton boss has faced heavy criticism in the press of late, especially after an "erratic" recent interview, and it feels as though he could be the league's next managerial sacking.
While speaking about it all on Chasing Green Arrows, Jones claimed that the club were interested in Marsch in the past and he could now be the man to come in and replace Jones who is on the brink.
He said: "I mean, Southampton were interested in him before he went to Leeds, and they are on the verge of making a decision over whether to back Nathan Jones or not.
"If I was them, I would probably be like, 'right, get Nathan Jones out and get Jesse Marsch in'. I don't think that will be a bad place to be.
"He'd have so much determination to bounce back, it really can't be that much worse than what Nathan Jones is managing to do right now. So that would be really interesting."
