This season can, quite simply, be split down the middle for Southampton.

At one point, they found themselves 19th in the table, which came after losing 9-0 at home against Leicester City. They were that low as late as November 30th, but they have since turned their form around dramatically.

Now, they are 14th in the table, seven points clear of the drop, and they were even as high as ninth at one point.

Still, they will have been incredibly unhappy to start the campaign so poorly, and the constant trend of selling their best players, such as Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk, seems to be catching up with them.

Perhaps another one who they may now regret selling is Dusan Tadic.

He made the switch to Ajax for €11.4m (£10m) in what he called a "dream" move, and he has shone ever since.

Here, we take a look at how he has performed since leaving the south coast outfit...

The Serbia international signed for the Saints for £10.9m having impressed in the Eredivisie with FC Twente. In 85 games in all competitions for the Dutch side, he has scored 32 goals and provided 36 assists, helping them win the title along the way.

He wasn't a dud at St. Mary's Stadium either. After scoring four goals and providing eight assists in his first Premier League campaign, he peaked in the next one, the 2015/16 season, during which he scored nine times and made 14 assists in all competitions.

However, he failed to match those heights in the next two seasons, managing just nine goals and nine assists in the top flight between them. When he departed for de Godenzonen, few will have been distraught to see him leave.

Where is he now?

Ajax were in stunning form last season, and the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt picked up most of the plaudits, completing big money moves to Barcelona and Juventus respectively. Tadic, though was one of the unsung heroes along the way as they reached the Champions League semi-finals.

In 56 games in all competitions, he managed to rack up a huge 38 goals, also provided 24 assists along the way. In European competition itself, he managed six of the later and five of the former, even earning a prestigious 10 rating from L'Equipe for his performance against Real Madrid in the round of 16.

This term, Ajax have been unable to match the previous year's heights, but the £22.5m-valued 31-year-old - as per Transfermarkt - still has 16 goals and 21 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions - his arrival may just be one of the best signings they have made in recent memory.
