Southampton have been heavily linked with Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic recently and the Austrian could form a deadly duo with James Ward-Prowse in Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.

Reports this summer have claimed that Southampton are keen to recruit the 25-year-old forward, who stands at a gigantic 6 foot 7 and has excelled in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

The striker has hit 22 league goals in the last two seasons, despite some injury issues in the last campaign, and with his contract at Stuttgart set to expire at the end of this season, a summer exit could well be on the cards.

If Southampton can convince him to move to St Mary's, then he could be an extremely dangerous option for the Saints this season when you consider his height and the quality of Ward-Prowse's delivery.

The England international has been described by Pep Guardiola as the best set-piece taker in world football and is closing in on David Beckham's record for goals from free-kicks.

However, his ability to whip the ball into dangerous areas from long free-kicks, corners and open play makes him the dream for any striker, especially one as tall as Kalajdzic.

The Austrian has been highly praised by Bundesliga journalist Marcel Reif for his aerial prowess, as he said he could do "crazy things in the air."

This is emphasised by the giant forward winning 4.1 aerial duels on average last season, which was comfortably more than any Southampton player would average in the Premier League, which shows just what he could add at St Mary's.

The forward has also started the new season in impressive form, registering three assists in his first two Bundesliga appearances, which shows that he can perform effectively as a target man and bring other players into play, as well as finishing off moves with his goalscoring ability.

The prospect of Ward-Prowse finding Kaladjzic with crosses is surely a mouth-watering prospect for Hasenhuttl and considering the lack of aerial ability amongst his current crop of strikers, he must surely be considering a swoop for the Stuttgart man this summer.
